A fascinating account of a psychiatrist's encounters with spiritual traditions and ancient wisdom in Siberia. The narrative explores shamanic practices, healing rituals, altered states, visions, and teachings encountered beyond conventional Western medicine. Personal experience becomes a vehicle for examining questions about consciousness, illness, transformation, and the nature of reality. Part travel narrative and part spiritual exploration, the book will appeal to readers interested in shamanism, alternative healing, Siberian traditions, and accounts of encounters with cultures whose understanding of mind and spirit differs dramatically from modern Western perspectives.
